Another Piggyback!

This is another Piggyback bag...this is a smaller version of the other tie-dye piggyback bag.

This is also more of a cute fabric combination, I think too. I love how these fabrics look together though, and isn't the lace at the bottom of the smaller bag adorable?

I lightly padded both these bags so they'll be comfortable to wear and shield your goodies. I've got this bag listed on my Gypsy Girl Fashions etsy shop.

The Most Beautiful Bag I've Ever Made....

Well, darn, by the time I'd finally gotten pictures of this bag, I made another bag, and now that's the most beautiful bag....

Oh, well.

What I like about this bag is the layering...I used two fabrics, the lacy silver black scarf fabric and the shiny silver black confetti dot fabric. I used some of the confetti dot for the "necklace" at the top of the bag, but then I also put it underneath the body of the purse, so the sparkles "peak" out of the scarf fabric. I really love the way it looks and sparkles.

I also was pretty thrilled with the button I chose. I have many, many buttons that I could have potentially used...a silver metal one with a floral pattern specifically, but I decided to use this one. To me, the button looks like it's made of bubbles, with a tiny crystal rhinestone in the center of it.

It might be an interesting blog to show a purse in the making and the way a button changes the look of a purse. That will be for next time.

I hope your forth is so much fun and safe!

This is going to be the most beautiful purse I've ever made!

My husband (aka the shipping department) gave me a knowing look. "You say that about all the purses you make."

I gave him a snooty look. "Well, it will be the most beautiful purse. You'll see."

"Well I think the elephant purse was the most beautiful purse or the Royal Ohm purse, or the fruit purse--"

I was so mad I almost stomped my foot and he gave me a hug and chuckled. "Honey, if you make it I'm sure it will be."

Yes, he was patronizing me...but so what.

Here's a picture of another scarf I'm going to upcycle into the most beautiful purse I've ever made...stayed tuned and I'll show you what I come up with! Btw, I love my husband!

"It is finished!", as they say

I just finished the dress, bonnet and panties for niece's baby and I'm so excited at the finshed product. I love this blue, polka dot fabric, it makes me think of Alice in Wonderland or some fairy tale book character. And the lace is such a perfect match--she'll be all ready for the warm Florida weather!

Guess What This is Going to Be?

Well, isn't it funny that I can't use the baby fabric I talked about in my last post because there's not enough of it?

So, I looked in my stash to see what I could find, and I have to say I'm really pleased. I found cute, light aqua-blue cotton with white polka dots, white cotton eyelet, lace and light white cotton for lining. I even have the little buttons.

So, I have everything I need to make a dress, bonnet, panties, maybe a purse and shoes. (Reminder: this is for a baby, not for me) I'll post the pictures soon!

Gingerbread Boy Purse

Tommorrow, I am going to be in the Bags and Purses Showcase in Etsy so I thought I would think outside of the box. To the left is my first purse that I will show...This purse doubles as a doll purse or christmas ornament for your tree because the purse body is only 3" tall! What do you think? Were your fooled, did you think this was a big purse?

My New Display!

I'm busily getting ready for my new monthly display at the Green Valley Library, in Henderson Nevada.

Here's one of the ornaments I'm making, sort of an antiquely, victorian style, frou-frou purse. I love beaded, frilly, flashy things...and that's what I'm making right now for the holidays.
I'll be making stockings and regular evening purses as well.
If you happen to see the display, drop me a line, I'd love to know what you think of it. The display runs October 1 - October 31, 2010.
