I hate when that happens

So, has this ever happened to you?

I really take my time matching up fabrics, buttons, patterns.

But it just happened. I was really sure about this combination. I loved the fabric, I loved how when I cut it out that the pattern seemed to fit so well...I loved the button I chose. I started to sew.

And then...ewwwww! Was I blind? How could I have chosen that fabric to go with that? Hmmmm.

So, no, I do not get frustrated and throw the whole thing out. I don't ever do that. I wait. That's what I'm doing now. Maybe I'm waiting for my grandmother to come to me and tell me how to fix this.

And I have this feeling that she'd be very disapointed if I threw my hands up and threw it all away. After all, she was a depression era woman and didn't throw anything away! :)

I'll post what I finally come up with. I'm going to fix this somehow.

Aqua Paisleys - remind me of ocean waves!

I little bit ago I blogged about an aqua scarf that I fell in love with and said I'd make a bag.

Well here it is -- I think it's so elegant, but adorable!

I love using scarves that have borders -- this scarf had flowers and then large paisleys and I took advantage of each!

White Cloud with a Silver Lining

White Cloud with Silver Lining
I thought this was an appropriate name for this white fluffy bag with silver sequins. I know this sequin fabric has been around for some time, but I've just fallen in love with it.

And I love the pristine white against the animal print fabric.

I just uploaded this bag on Etsy.

Spiders: Yucky or Cool!

Spider bag!

BagSpider Bag

No, I'm not a spider fan, but I've made 4 bags so far featuring spiders (and a smattering of witches) and I have to tell you, those little creepy crawlies are growing on me...well, not literally. I sure like the ruby swarovsky crystals with the black spiders.

Here's some past items I'm made with spiders.

A New Scarf - A New Bag!

I just love these scarves--I have a new one that I've been mulling over--check out the pretty paisley border design, perfect for the flap, and then the side border, perfect for the strap. And that pretty fringe! Yes, I'm going to make a Princess Bag out of this scarf.

Can't wait to pick out the button!

This teal color will go so pretty with a white, or black or grey outfit. Perfect for the mother of the bride, too. I can't wait for this one to be done!

The Most Beautiful Bag I've Ever Made....

Well, darn, by the time I'd finally gotten pictures of this bag, I made another bag, and now that's the most beautiful bag....

Oh, well.

What I like about this bag is the layering...I used two fabrics, the lacy silver black scarf fabric and the shiny silver black confetti dot fabric. I used some of the confetti dot for the "necklace" at the top of the bag, but then I also put it underneath the body of the purse, so the sparkles "peak" out of the scarf fabric. I really love the way it looks and sparkles.

I also was pretty thrilled with the button I chose. I have many, many buttons that I could have potentially used...a silver metal one with a floral pattern specifically, but I decided to use this one. To me, the button looks like it's made of bubbles, with a tiny crystal rhinestone in the center of it.

It might be an interesting blog to show a purse in the making and the way a button changes the look of a purse. That will be for next time.

I hope your forth is so much fun and safe!

This is going to be the most beautiful purse I've ever made!

My husband (aka the shipping department) gave me a knowing look. "You say that about all the purses you make."

I gave him a snooty look. "Well, it will be the most beautiful purse. You'll see."

"Well I think the elephant purse was the most beautiful purse or the Royal Ohm purse, or the fruit purse--"

I was so mad I almost stomped my foot and he gave me a hug and chuckled. "Honey, if you make it I'm sure it will be."

Yes, he was patronizing me...but so what.

Here's a picture of another scarf I'm going to upcycle into the most beautiful purse I've ever made...stayed tuned and I'll show you what I come up with! Btw, I love my husband!
